This was the first individual architectural project that was undergone at University. It was a project to build a reading shelter in the woods of Wiston Lodge. The tutors allowed the students to pick the

site on which the shelter would be constructed. The chosen site was next to a river making it an ideal and tranquil location for a reading shelter that sits at the bottom of a mountain, allowing the reader to read looking out across the landscape. The idea for the shelter itself was that the user would be able to wander through the structure, and the further through the shelter the user got the more of the view they were exposed to. When the user reaches the centre of the shelter there is a reading bench and this is also where the view is most accessible.
