This project is situated in the Merchant city in Glasgow's city centre. The aim of this project was to create a gallery space for a Glasgow based artist. The university works closely with Glasgow based artists and the students were divided into groups and allowed to visit their studios. The artists provided for this gallery was Martin Boyce, a Glasgow based artists who has won the Turner Prize. He works with large installation pieces mainly involving LED lights. The gallery is split into three sections: private, circulation and public. The private section of the building is at the back, where the artist’s studio and residency are located.
