This project was a church project set in the small village of Inveraray in Scotland. The tutors provided four sites in which the students could choose from. The site chosen for this church is on the outskirts of the town so it will either be seen on the entrance to Inveraray or when leaving. The building itself is situated around a historic wall. The option to remove the wall was there, but instead the building incorporates the wall into its design. There are two natural entrances to this site so there are two entrances to the church, one from the east and one from the west, along with a separate entrance for the residency. Upon entering the church there is a place to gather and wait then when you wish to enter the chapel itself you weave through the historic wall to reach the chapel. The idea of this was that to church goers would go on a journey through the building before reaching their final destination it was a metaphor for the way in which Christians view life - they would start their journey and in the end would be greeted by God.
